Pastoral Care

The Clergy of St. Stephen’s are available for all types of pastoral care. In the event of a pastoral emergency please call the parish office at (305) 448 2601 and you will be directed to the “on call” priest or deacon.

The clergy are joined in giving pastoral care by the following lay ministries:

Episcopal Church Women (ECW):Episcopal Church Women (ECW):The St. Barbara’s chapter of the Episcopal Church Women was formed at St. Stephen’s in 2005. Monthly programs are given by speakers who focus on women, particularly female saints, their lives and works, their relationship to the church, their impact on history, their writings and how they are depicted in works of art. The group considers the idea of what it means to be a saint and ways in which St. Barbara’s ECW can be of service to others, in particular those who are bereaved or sick. The meetings are held once a month usually on the third Sunday after the 10AM service. Lunch is served and all are welcome to attend. Please contact Kitty Morgan for more information and check the calendar for more information

Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEV’s): Members of the laity are licensed by the diocese to take communion to the sick and homebound. For more information contact Deacon Charles Humphries.

Stephen Ministries: Members of the laity, after receiving training, provide various forms of care-giving to other members of the parish. For more information contact Deacon Charles Humphries.
